Domaine Mosse
On our recent trip to Paris and the Loire there was one domaine that constantly appeared on the wines lists of natural wine bars and restaurants with good wine lists - this was Domaine Mosse.
The first time we tried their natural Anjou Rouge the effect was startling. This is a wine that grabs you by the throat and says 'look at me!'.
It is pure, it is made with precision and skill and it tastes absolutely wonderful.
When we drove down to Provence and visited one of our favourite cave à manger, Le Bon Heur Suit Son Cours, in the old Roman town of Vaison-la-Romaine there it was again! It has become a cult wine for those seeking the purity of wine that has little sulphur treatment and where the grapes have been treated with respect in the vineyard.
Our recent visit to France included a visit to the home of Rene and Agnes Mosse. We enjoyed a degustation in their winery before a most enjoyable meal in their home.
